Nothing says blank canvas like a white lined marquee... and Portavadie Marina's permanent Pavillion space is no exception. Kirsten and Gavin got in touch with us in the hope that we could take the space to another level, building on that canvas for their wedding reception, to create a fresh contemporary feel and we really couldn't wait to get involved   We decluttered and stripped back the space by removing the swags to the perimeter of the Marquee creating cleaner lines and a more contemporary feel.  We brought in layers of soft grey fabrics, different shades of white, warm subtle timbers, pretty floral patterns, touches of silver leaf and a whole pile of leafy greens to create a soft romantic feel but then we paired all of that with hexagon shapes, wire grids and festoon lighting to keep it current and edgy.  The existing light fittings in the main space were concealed using large scale bespoke hexagon fixtures, also making use of the wire grids and draped with pretty loose greenery and trailing ferns.  The bespoke signage continued the use of the various textures and the table details included a mixture of hand folded and printed vase sleeves, polaroid place settings with silver hexagon stickers and sprayed ombre timber candle holders with elegant taper candles.  The resulting look goes to show that even using a very subtle colour palate we were still able to create an exciting scheme that transformed the space for the client and really reflected their personal style. This set up was truly epic, in a completely epic setting, for a totally epic couple!
